Acrylics

Model acrylics for brush application tends to do well being thinned with water, and color coverage good enough to make effective change on each layer, additionally, the matte finish lets you see the application more as-is once it dries.
Canvas, or craft purpose acrylic tends to dries off with satin to semi-gloss finish, but it does not mean it can't be used effectively.

Acrylics

Heavy-Medium-Soft body, Acrylic Gouache, Ink, Acrysion

from the most to least brushmark, you will want the flattest, streak-free result, but it will depend on your application skill

Spray paint rattle cans

Matte surface gives primer effect, which helps the paint to adhere better, and matte clear coat will help even out whatever gloss and brushmark that cheap paints have.
